The Great Smoky Mountains National
Park has more than a half-million forested acres and
900 miles of trails, all waiting for you to explore. Yet most
of the Park is only accessible by foot. ...or by hoof.
Several stables offer guided
horse rides on the Cherokee Reservation, into the National
Park, or along trails in the Nantahala National Forest. Rides
are generally one to four hours, and some outfitters offer
overnight camping trips by horseback.
