Annual Harvest Festival
—
Our celebration begins with an old-fashioned bonfire, complete with hotdogs, marshmallows, sing-along, music and often a visit from Civil War era soldiers on patrol from their nearby camp. On Saturday, the grounds are filled with the sounds of mountain music and dancing feet. Hit and miss engines, antique tractors, the corn-grinding exhibit and country fair provide more excitement. Local artists offer their handmade crafts and foods for sale, often conducting demonstrations of their craft as well. And, on Sunday you'll want to attend the gospel singing featuring local groups from 2:30 - 5 pm.
