Cherokee Chamber of Commerce
In
2006, business representatives in Cherokee, NC formed the Cherokee
Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization
of businesses dedicated to promoting a healthy business
community in and around the town of Cherokee.
Managed by a 12-member Board
of Directors, the Chamber collaborates with
the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on programs related to promotion
and economic development, helping the community market to a larger
number of potential visitors to the area.
With a focus
on the Cherokee business community, the Chamber's programs are
designed to complement Tribal programs.
Chief Michell Hicks supports
the Chamber of Commerce as an important entity
in the overall effort to energize historical and new businesses
in the Cherokee community.
